Weathercraft
Raquel and Hugh Jones launched Weathercraft in 2018 with a shared deep respect for their vineyard, and unwavering dedication to creating something truly special. Since the inception, the brand has evolved, expanding its range to include single-varietal wines like Chardonnay, Tempranillo, Albariño, and Pinot Gris, as well as unique blends crafted using clay and other time-honoured techniques. Given Raquel’s heritage Weathercraft have named their wine club, Club Reserva.
Club Reserva recognises the customers who have a relationship with them, or are referred by friends of the winery, or simply met the vignerons at a private tasting and share a love of great wine. Club Reserva gets you two club packs sent per year, which gives you priority access to their new wines each autumn and spring. You’ll select your own pack from the exclusive member wine list shared with you the week prior to shipment. A 10% discount on all wine orders online, and a $15 flat-rate postage for club shipments. Serengale
Vignerons Serena Abbinga and Gayle Taylor established their vineyard in 1999 with a love of chardonnay and a passion for producing premium wines that express their single vineyard. Set in the rolling hills on ancient granite soil perfect for producing classic Beechworth chardonnay you can experience their wines firsthand by visiting their cellar door (by appointment). You’ll go on a journey with the winemaker, and experience each wine immersed in the vineyard in which it was grown.
For those who fall in love with their wines, the Serengale Wine club is for those fans who don’t like being locked into any pre-set wine packs and enjoy the flexibility of ordering wines at any time throughout the year. All you must do is order at least 12 bottles across 12-months for member discounts, free delivery on all orders, and special newsletters letting you know when new vintage wines are being released. Piano Piano
‘Piano piano’ means ‘slowly slowly’ in Italian – a nod to vigneron Marc Scalzo’s Italian roots. Both Scalzo and partner Lisa Hernan established the winery back in 2001, where they set about planting Chardonnay and Shiraz vines on their picturesque Beechworth property. They are located on the highly sort after ‘golden mile’ amongst some of the region’s most notable wine producers. They focus on making premium, estate grown single vineyard wines, where the wines have a strong sense of place. Rather than impose his own personality on the wines, Scalzo has always strived to let the vineyard tell its own story. Piano Piano wines often gain attention for two of their premium wines: Sophie’s Paddock Chardonnay, and Henry’s Paddock Shiraz. There are many other fantastic wines made under the Piano Piano label that deserve your attention too, and they wanted you to check them out.

Castagna
Something that is definitely summer-inspired, and more specifically…celebratory. Perhaps something (if you can wait that long) for next Christmas?! Julian and Carol-ann love a great sparkling shiraz…and their 2015 Sparkling Genesis Syrah is just sublime! Castagna curated a special two-pack at Christmas for his members, but they’ve decided to keep this offer open for our wonderful Beechworth wine lovers.
A visit to the Castagna cellar door requires some planning and making an appointment, which Julian knows can be tricky. One of the interesting tasting experiences he offers guests when they do come to the cellar door, is a tasting of the 2015 still and sparkling Genesis Syrah side-by-side. Same wine, same vintage – one with bubbles, one without. A really unique tasting experience that you must try.
