The region is serviced by planes, trains, and buses. Albury Airport, VLine and NSW Translink XPT rail services and Wangaratta and VLine Coach services provide plenty of safe transport options. 

When visiting the Beechworth wine region, it is important to be aware and obey any COVID-19 travel restrictions that my apply.

Melbourne

Beechworth is a relaxed 3-hour journey from Melbourne along the M31 Hume Highway. Once past the signs to Wangaratta, take the Great Alpine Road exit B500 to Tarrawingee, taking a left turn and following the C315 to Beechworth. 

Once arrived the Beechworth wine region invites you to explore the collection on superb wineries, indulge in the allure of yesteryear and soak up an atmosphere of friendliness, fine eateries, cafés, pubs, and bars scattered throughout the district.

Visiting From

Sydney

Follow the M31 Hume Highway south to Wodonga then the signs to Beechworth. When travelling by car allow 6 hours. From Wodonga the area is very well sign posted and google maps will see you arrive safely and ready for a wine exploration experience you will not forget.

The townships are well equipped to cater for our northern visitors and booking ahead is advised.

Visiting From

Canberra

A leisurely 3hrs and 30minute putt joining the M31 Hume Highway from Yass will take you past Albury and then exit C315 toward Wodonga.  Follow the signs to C315 and around 30-35mins later you will reach Beechworth.

Be prepared to step back in time as old historical buildings, stunning tree lined streets and enchanting locals welcome you to the many wonders of Victoria’s high country.
